WOW, it’s already my final blog post for Like a Voss INC.
This last semester has flown by since joining the team.
Today is officially my last day of the two-year Advertising and Marketing Communications program at St. Lawrence College, as placement is my final steppingstone to graduating.
This internship was my first experience working in my field. I learned a lot of things about organic growth on social media, engagement, writing, and working with clients. Working alongside the LAV team has allowed me to create relationships with my fellow team members and knowing throughout my career if I have any questions, I will always be able to reach out.
I was a little bit nervous in the beginning when starting to do engagement sessions for clients’ social media. I was dipping my toes in the water, and I’ll admit…it took me a little bit longer than I would’ve liked it to get comfortable, but now I am comfortable engaging on any client’s platform.
Having a virtual working environment was weird from the beginning, but after a few weeks, I got used to it and liked being in the comfort of my own home. However, for the past couple of weeks, the team has been working in-person at the Sanctuary Coworking in downtown Kingston. Working altogether is a little bit distracting at times since we haven’t gotten a chance to chat in person, but it makes work a lot more fun.
We also had a staff fun day which included a photoshoot, going to lunch, dinner and an escape room. We escaped the room with 11 seconds left, which is crazy!!! Spending this time together really gave us an opportunity to bond, and even though I have finished my internship with LAV – I definitely am thankful for the opportunity and know that I am taking away skills that will help me as I move forward in my marketing career.
