So, this is my third week here at LAV, and if I have to describe my last two weeks in one word, it would be “EXPERIENCE”.
In this short amount of time, which is the last two weeks, I have been in two client meetings, which is a huge deal for someone like me who has no prior experience in working for a client other than my final agency project for college. Even though the meetings were handled by Mandi and the rest of the team, the kind of learning and exposure I got felt different and new.
Another fun fact for everyone who isn’t familiar with the Canadian work environment is, that EVERYONE IS SUPER CHILL! This came off as a culture shock to me because, in the Indian work environment, the employees are pressured to behave, be serious and not joke around during meetings whereas right here in Canada, you get the work done while being casual and chill with the clients. I love the fact that the CEOs or any other higher authorities here don’t intimidate you but instead make you feel welcome and calm.
Talking about work, there have been more tasks than last week, and the learning is expanding as well. I have been assigned to research, write and design content for a client. Also, I’ve been getting more familiarized with the platforms LAV uses to post and schedule content and graphics. The team as usual has been supportive and helpful with all my tasks. They are always open to any questions and ensure that I get to work without any tensions or fears.
The only thing I still find challenging is creating fresh and exciting content according to the client’s brand. The team provides great feedback on both the content and graphics and suggests changes if any. This has been such a great learning curve for me to date and I look forward to improving my professional skills more.
Until next time, Bye!
