You’re a company, so what’s so important about humanizing your brand on social media? A lot, actually.

People are attracted to people and businesses that seem authentic. The more you seem like a real person behind the brand, the more they’re likely to trust you. Having loyal customers takes trust.

So how do you humanize your brand? You are a business after all. Well, here are some tips to get you started.

It’s Not All Business

As a company on social media, it can be tempting to simply use the tool for advertising and leave it at that, but that’s not what social media is for. Social media is for sharing and building connections. You can’t do that if all you’re doing is advertising.

Find Your Voice

Everyone needs to have a clear and unique voice on social media, no matter if you’re one person or a big company. Voice is vital, especially when it comes to humanizing your brand.

Your voice makes it clear that there is a real person behind your profile. It tells people that you care about what you’re posting instead of just posting because you feel like you have to be on social media. Your audience is smart. They can tell when your voice isn’t unique. It gives off the image that you don’t care or you’re inauthentic. If you don’t care about what you post then why should anyone care about what you have to say?

They think that since they are a company, not a single person, then they can’t humanize their brand. That’s simply not true. If you’re a big company then you have many people you can spotlight to humanize you!

Try making a segment where you feature a different employee every week. Post about what they do, what they like, or anything else they want to share. Let your audience get to know the real people behind the company!
