A Little Bit About Being a Female Entrepreneur
1: How long have you been in business?
I started my business on the side when I was working inside my Corporate role for 4 years. I have been in business for 9 years, full time over 4 and a half years.
2: What made you decide to become a business coach and consultant?
Thank you for asking. Back when I was a Branch Manager at the Bank, they asked us to Coach our teams. At that point, I had an idea of what that looked like. I choose to go out and be certified in it so that I could really learn how to be an effective coach. Since then, I continue to add tools into my toolkit to help take people to the next level. I launched my private practice in 2015 so that I could help more than one organization at a time. I now support many different industries and professionals.
3: What do you love most about being a female entrepreneur?
That is an interesting question. To me, it is more about being a business owner first. Irrespective of being a female leader. I love the ability to create the plan, focus on the right lead measures and improve results. I like to say “Our Positive Impact Is The Greatest Currency There Is.” If you adopt the mindset of Expecting To Win, it will serve you well when you show up with confidence.
4: What is the hardest thing you have had to overcome as a female entrepreneur? Something you did not foresee when you decided to go into business for yourself?
There are more good ideas than there is the ability to execute on those ideas. Getting really good at focusing on the right tasks and lead measures makes a big difference in success.
5: What is one thing about working in the coaching and consulting industry that people would be surprised to learn?
Great question. As a certified professional coach with more than 1550 logged coaching hours who takes the profession seriously, I would say not all coaches are created equal. Partner with a proven professional who has a lot of varied client testimonials on different social sites.
And Now Onto The Social Media Questions!
6: Do you have a favorite social media platform? Why?
YES! LinkedIn For Business Growth. LinkedIn used effectively will grow your business. Having a strategy behind what you post matters. How are you priming people’s thinking to think of you when you are on the platforms? Knowing this will make a big difference in how you show up and what you share. I believe in the power of the LinkedIn platform for business owners so much that I even built a program to help others leverage my learning. I have a presence on IG, FB, Twitter as well, however, business comes from the LinkedIn platform.
7: What made you decide to start using social media as a way to promote your company?
Social media is one layer of the marketing cake. It is not the only place you need to be. We need to be meeting people face to face and sharing how we can be of service. Social media helps you build an online presence for people to check you out and know that you know what you are talking about. It is one way to market your business that can have you easily and cost-effectively sharing your Market Dominating Position.
8: How has social media impacted your business? Would you say that it’s an effective marketing tool?
Social Media channels are important so that people can learn about you. People like to connect with people that they can get to know, like and trust. The power of the LinkedIn platform has transformed my practice, had been invited into some amazing projects including the International Best Selling books, Dream Boldly I Dare You. Yes, it is one of the many effective marketing tools for your business. Remember that it is only one layer.
9: What advice would you give to other businesses and entrepreneurs who want to use social media as a way to connect with customers?
My recommendation is to learn about Attraction Marketing. We can prime people’s thinking to think of us in a certain way when they have a need. Have a strategy and a plan. Success leaves clues, partner with a professional who you admire and share your knowledge in your own unique way.
