Yes, as cliche as it is to say, time really does fly when you’re having fun. I cannot believe that this is already the end of week three here at Like a Voss.
Last week, I was quite sick – thanks rainy spring weather *rolls eyes*, but this week I came back ready and excited to have a week full of new tasks and new learning opportunities.
Honestly, this internship has been… well, incredible to say the least. I have gotten the chance to experience so many different and wonderful things over the last few weeks (including Mandi’s baked treats), while also continuing on my own journey of self discovery as not only a marketer, but as Deanna.
In terms of content marketing, I have been able to do things I love like: designing graphics, creating social media content and blogging. This has really allowed me to tap into my creative side. But, I’ve also discovered this weird love for the small repetitive tasks, like inputting data into spreadsheets and different programs – which if you know me, is quite strange to hear. Honestly, it was surprising to me too.
Things like lead generation and market research were two words that used to terrify me. Now, I can comfortably say, LET’S DO IT *fist pump*, thanks to Mandi’s amazing team who makes training here so simple, comfortable and fun.
One of my biggest self discoveries though is that I am freaking awesome. I mean not to toot my own horn *toot toot*, but I think that I have really proved to myself that no matter what gets thrown my way, I am always open and excited to take on new tasks and learn new things. Even things that may seem scary at first.
I have also discovered the things I am not so awesome at. And that is just as important. I have realized that my opportunity area is definitely learning to accept constructive criticism.
As I look back on the last three weeks and my first blog post, and jam out to some country tunes with Mandi in the office, I realize just how silly it was for me to worry about starting this amazing adventure. If you’ve made it this far, thanks for following along.
