Of course, humor is not the ONLY tactic, but since I am trying to be light with this one – it was the first thing that came to mind. And trust me – I am fully aware that I am not as funny as I think I am either (although I certainly do have my moments).

  1. You don’t have time for this!

Running a business is hard enough as it is. Do you really have time to be posting on Instagram multiple times a day? Probably not. Do you have time to answer every single message and every single comment that comes in across all your channels? Probably not. Do you have time for strategic outward engagement with people in your target market (at least an hour a day)? Probably not.

Let a social media agency handle the nitty-gritty details, while you focus on what you do best.

  1. You’re not a graphic designer!

I hate to break it to you, but that Microsoft Paint logo you made in 2005 isn’t going to cut it in 2023. Okay, that was a low blow, I am aware. Canva is great, and it is helping a lot of people make pretty things – but when it comes down to it, are you a designer? Likely not. Do you know how to use more advanced tools? Likely not. What you DO know is your brand – no one knows is better than you. So communicate that to a team with a graphic designer who is trained to bring stories and ideas to life.

TLDR: Social media is all about visuals, and if your content isn’t visually appealing, then no one is going to stick around.

  1. You don’t know the latest trends!

Remember when everyone was doing the Harlem Shake? Or planking? Yeah, those were dark times. Wow, I am such a millennial. *Face Palm* But the point is, social media is constantly evolving, and it can be hard to keep up with the latest trends. Hard is putting it mildly, we pay for conferences every year that tell us DIFFERENT shit…not even kidding.

Let a social media agency take the reins and keep your content fresh and relevant. And also save yourself from having to spend endless hours reading updates, setting RSS feeds for social media topics, or failing your way through the latest app/platform updates without a solid plan.

  1. You’ll get to pretend you have friends! (LOL)

Let’s face it, social media can be a lonely place when you’re doing it all yourself – there is no one to bounce ideas off (the worst). But with a social media agency, you’ll have a whole team of experts working to make your business look good, listen to your ideas, and make recommendations based on how the landscape changes platforms evolve. And who knows, maybe they’ll even tag you in a meme or two.

So there you have it, folks.
