A Little Bit About Being an Entrepreneur

1: How long have you been in business?

I been self-employed for two years!

2: What made you decide to break away from the 9-5 and start your business?

Just like any entrepreneur, the freedom of self-expression, choosing who I get to work with, and knowing this is the ultimate independence.

3: What do you love most about being a business owner?

I love being an entrepreneur because I get to create my own community and attract like-minded people who share the same values.

4: What is the hardest thing you have had to overcome as an entrepreneur? Something you did not foresee when you decided to start your business?

During the first year of business, all I did was focus on perfecting my services or techniques and a realized that I have to continue to learn how to wear many different hats. For example – advertising manager and money management.

5: What is one thing about working in your industry that people would be surprised to learn?

The beauty industry and technology are forever evolving, you have to continue to invest in studies – to keep up with the trends and products.

And Now Onto The Social Media Questions!

6: Do you have a favourite social media platform? Why?

My favourite social media is Instagram. There’s so much inspiration. I like the idea of it being my own business card and attracting my ideal clients.

7. What made you decide to start using social media as a way to promote your company?
It’s the best way for advertising, it’s free, and it’s an easy way to directly connect and build my community.

8: How has social media impacted your business? Would you say that it’s an effective marketing tool?

Social media has impacted my business in so many ways. Being able to get inspiration, unlimited knowledge, and reaching out to others for support and it’s a good way to build trust for those who want to work with me.

9: What advice would you give to other businesses and entrepreneurs who want to use social media as a way to connect with customers?

It’s important to show your authentic, human self on social media, this will allow you to attract your ideal customers!

A Little More About Valene

Before I transitioned into my business full-time, I felt lost, and just inconsistent form of self-actualization. I’m grateful for all the hard work I continue to put into my growing business, so I have time for family, the present moments, and being the healthiest version of myself.
