Wellness Collection is an online boutique of high end supplement and health products founded by best selling author and health expert, Cassie Sobelton. Wellness Collection was born out of the desire for honest, clean health products that support mind, body and spirit wellbeing in a simple, easy fashion.
Our CEO Mandi took some time to speak with Cassie about her journey, and how social media has played a role in her success over the years. Keep reading to see what they talked about.
A Little Bit About Being an Entrepreneur
1: How long have you been in business?
Almost 2 years.
2: What made you decide to break away from the 9-5 and start your business?
This was my second business but entrepreneurship has been in my blood for many years, even decades.
3: What do you love most about being a business owner?
Darn near everything! I love the challenges, finding solutions, learning new things, quick pivots, hard work and flexible lifestyle.
4: What is the hardest thing you have had to overcome as an entrepreneur? Something you did not foresee when you decided to start your business?
Having a life changing bike accident, which included severe injuries shortly after the business’ launch was definitely not in the plans. That siderailed me in a major way, but I am very lucky to have a small team of people who majorly stepped up to help, inlcuding Like A Voss for our social media!
5: What is one thing about working in your industry that people would be surprised to learn?
The regulatory issues around CBD still create major issues in banking, credit card processing, marketing, and many other facets of the business.

6: Do you have a favourite social media platform? Why?
8: How has social media impacted your business? Would you say that it’s an effective marketing tool?
Social media is good for connecing with others. We are very new to social media with Wellness Collection, so time will tell.
9: What advice would you give to other businesses and entrepreneurs who want to use social media as a way to connect with customers?
Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Don’t overthink it or get in your head too much. Perfection will slow you down. Learn to let go of people’s unsolicited opinions about your social media – what you did right, what you did wrong, it matters not what they think. The fact that they’re talking about you proves your goal has been accomplished.
A Little More About Cassie
My favorite thing in the world is to spend one on one time with my partner, Rob. I waited 41 years to find someone I fit with so well and it was so worth the wait! We live together, work together, play together. Five years in and it still feels like we are on a honeymoon. I am very lucky.
I recently moved to a home in a very walkable city. I love everything about living in a walkable city and love taking walks into town. I thoroughly enjoy knowing a lot of people in my neighborhood and seeing friends daily on walks. My favorite evenings are walking into town for dinner, of course, with Rob.
I did not go undergraduate school for business, but was mentored in business by my step-father, Chuck. He taught me everything I know (in business and practically in life). I owe so much to him and while he passed 15 years ago, very few days go by where I do not think of him or utilize something he taught me. He changed the trajectory of my life in such a major way. I am forever grateful to him for this mentorship.
I did go to undergraduate school and graduated with a dual major in psychology and sociology, with a concentration in criminal justice. While it would seem I do not utilize this degree as an entrepreneur, the knowledge I gained studying these subjects is absolutely pertinent in any business setting. So much of entrepreneurship is dealing with and managing people, both of which were a big part of my studies.
Following college, I did go back to school for operations and nutrition, amongst other health related certificates. Both have served me very well in life and my career.
I am a firm believer in karma and living to serve. I choose my career and so many other parts of my life with the belief that how I make money will determine my future (this lifetime and others) and do not take that belief lightly. I give very thoughtful consideration to the impact my work and my actions have on others and the earth, letting dharma be my guiding light, versus money.
I strive for clarity and honesty above all else.
